Pro Bruce Samson CRR'd 63.17 lbs of Lake Erie walleyes to win the AIM Pro Walleye Qualifier in Lorain, OH. Samson's three-day total was a whopping 186.06 lbs. Mike Gofron finished 2nd with 170.61 lbs. Mike Zaborski was third with 170.02 lbs. Don Loch set a single day AIM record with 70.2 lbs on Day 3.
The fishing really was the highlight of the event with anglers all reporting catches of 40plus fish a day and with 4 rods thats some great fishing. Most guys ran 2-3 oz inlines with pinks and purple blades working the best. The rest ran Reef Runners in purple demon ,purple sunfire ,burnt muffin,pink panties and pink lemonaid. Everyone ran baits 24-32 feet down with the weather bouy being the top spot but the edges of the bar also taking fish.
Perch fishing has been great from Beaver Creek to Avon Point in 35-42 feet with limits of nice fish being caught everyday.
Looks like another great week to be fishing Lake Erie!
