Weekend

The forecast may actually let guys out on the lake this weekend. If water clears any at all walleye and perch fishing should be top notch. Reports are still coming in from the reef complex out west stating the jig bite is still good. Trollers are also reporting big walleye be caught in the top ten feet on reef runners 800s. Perch should also continue to be good in depths of 30-36 feet.

Weather

The rains and high winds have kept the guys out of the river and off of the lake. Hopefully in the days to come conditions will straighten out.

Steelhead/walleye

This week ended in high wind and heavy rain. The big waves have kept guys off the Lake but in this weeks MWC the Detroit river has produced 5 fish bags over 40 pounds. Rivers and streams statewide are high and muddy making steelheading tough the next few days.

High water/walleye/perch

Steelhead fishing has came to a sudden stop, high water and mud for this weekend. Hopefully a few days rivers will drop to a good level and fill with fresh chrome. Walleye jigging out West has fired with a bang. Hair jigs in purple, chartreuse and orange all firing.

Just wanted to show off this 14.5 # male taken a few days ago on the Chagrin. Micheal is from Germany and has only fished for Ohio steel a few times. The fish hit a white power bait tube drifted under a float. I hope he remembers this fish forever and continues to make the long trip across the pond to fish the Ohio tributaries.

Spring weather

This spring has been full of high wind and high water. Rivers are once again high and muddy and the Lake is full of white caps and dirty water. Hopefully this warm rain brings in fresh pushes of fish.
